In order to
better serve its mandate, CASDDA
has set very high goals in its training requirements, and will seek
every opportunity to learn and train. This means that not only
will our members meet locally several times each week to train
themselves and their dogs, but they will also go wherever needed to
pursue further training amongst those more knowledgeable or more
specialized in a particular type of search.
Being part of the IRO has been a tremendous help for CASDDA as it offers the opportunity to take part in many training seminars taught by some of the best SAR specialists in the world. Furthermore, CASDDA believes that for a search team to grow, a free flow of exchange of knowledge and experience between the various Search and Rescue groups is absolutely necessary. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Our members are required to train
their dogs at the highest level of obedience and agility. They
also receive an education in Emergency First Aid, basic K-9 First Aid,
danger assessment and building damage typology.
